Im new to the RV world and just purchased a RV the only way anything works is if the key is turned to the "ON" position? I would think it would be in "assy" if anything.....is this how it is to be???

Hey Heavy
When you say " anything ", are you saying anything on the chassis, or anything on the house, or everything?

If key is not in "on" position the 12V lights inside wont work, the gen wont crank, all the monitering stuff over stove don't work unless key is turned to on........I could see turnin to assy but not to on.......Thanx

I don't think that any of the systems that you mention should be associated with the chassis ignition in any position. Sounds like your house battery switch is off, or bad, or your house batteries are dead.
I'm no expert, but I've neglected to turn on the switch several times and experienced DUH! when the generator won't start.
Just a thought.

Second thought ........ when your ignition is on, your chassis electric would be charging your house batteries ( at least when the engine is running ) so there is a connection there at some point. That said, if the house battery switch is turned off or not working, the generator, house lights or level indicators aren't going to work.

Our switch is located on the lower wall next to the steps for the entry door, not sure where yours might be. Maybe someone else with a Swinger could point you in the right direction. The location doesn't appear in our owners manual.
Hope this helps.

That's the switch. When it's in the USE position, all of your 12 volt house systems should be powered. The STORE position disconnects all of the house systems so there's no drain on the batteries when you're not using the MH.
It's on page 31 of your owners manual. If you don't have an owners manual, go to http://www.coachmenrv.com/OwnerManuals.aspx to download one.
